Amit Mistry, an Indian actor who played character roles in several Hindi and Gujarati films and series, passed away this morning following a cardiac arrest. He was also a dialogue writer and director. Not everyone knows about his family, struggle and his career in the Bollywood industry. Let’s have an insight into Amit’s life.

Amit Mistry’s career in the entertainment industry!

He was born and brought up in Mumbai. He did his graduation from Narsee Monjee College, Vile Parle in Mumbai and also attended Govt law College in Mumbai. Amit Mistry is quite famous in the Gujarati theatre circle as well as in the Hindi film and television industry. He married in 2015. (There is not much information about his personal life). Amit Mistry’s toiling himself for years to get his career set as an actor in Hindi and Gujarati films is highly commendable. He also worked in many theatre plays. In 2000, he made his debut with ‘Kya Kehna’ which also stars Preity Zinta. He played the role of her brother. He played supporting roles in various Bollywood films, like ‘Ek Chalis Ki Last local’ (2007), ‘Shor in the City’ (2010), ‘Yamla Pagla Deewana’ (2011), ‘Bey Yaar’ (2014), and ‘A Gentleman’ (2017).

As a director, Amit has also directed a short film, ‘Two Cubes Pls’ (2013). He has also written dialogue for the Hindi film, ‘What’s Your Rashee?’(2009). He appeared in various Hindi TV Serials like ‘Who’ (1998), ‘Dafa 420’ (2015), ‘Saat Phero ki Hera Pheri’ (2018), and ‘Tenali Rama’ (2020).

The actor is a part of the Amazon Prime web series Bandish Bandits. It is a romantic OTT drama.

Amit Mistry has almost completed 20 years in the industry. With his debut to appearing on Television screens, his co-stars and people around highly admired him.

Amit Mistry’s sudden demise has left the entire film and television industry in shock. Actors come forward and extend their deep condolences to the family. The 47- year old actor was at his residence in Andheri with his mother when he breathed his last at around 9:30 AM.

According to sources, his manager Maharshi Desai confirmed the tragic news. Speaking on this he said, “He passed away after suffering a massive cardiac arrest this morning. He was at his house in Andheri, Mumbai with his parents and passed away on the spot, before they could get any help.”

Amit Mistry’s demise: Actors who mourned over social media!

Many actors from the fraternity have commented and mourned over social media. Actors like Kubbra Sait, Sumeet Vyas, and Aahana Kumra, Tusshar Kapoor, Vir Das, and Swanand Kirkire, Tisca Chopra, Ajay Singh Chaudhary have extended their deep condolences to his family.

Not just actors, Boards like The Cine & TV Artiste’s Association (CINTAA) and also The Indian Film TV Producers Council tweeted their condolences over his sudden demise.

Amit Mistry was a renowned name in the Television industry. This amazing actor will be terribly missed on earth!
