His presence on ‘Fame Grurukul’ was noticed by the filmmaker, Sanjay Leela Bhansali. He later had him sing ‘Yun Shabnami’ in his film, Saawariya, however the version of this song never released. At present he seems to be the ‘Master of Versatility’ who is giving hits after hits, grabbing half of the population’s attention to his tracks.

Arijit’s soulful performances have a magical way of calming one down. Coming to his family, his father is a Punjabi whereas his mother a Bengali. His childhood dream was always to become a singer. He trained under the Hazari Brothers at the age of 3. He earned a scholarship for training into vocals in classical music at the age of 9. Arijit’s mom has been a huge inspiration to pursue his interest in music.
Arijit Singh’s first song ‘All for one, from High School Musical 2 was composed by Shankar Ehsan Loy. Among his favourite singers are, Ghulam Ali, Jagjit Singh and Mehdi Hasan. Arijit Singh also sung for Television Show Tracks.
Did you know that your charming Arijit Singh also has keen interest in photography, cycling and Bengali novels. Not just a singer, he is also a great Badminton player, writer, movie fan and a documentary maker.
The singer also owns an NGO named, ‘Let there be Light’ which works for the Below Poverty Level (BPL). He and his organisation aim to include activities for the well being and betterment of the underprivileged children. Singing more than approximately 200 songs, he is an established singer in the Industry today!
Arijit Singh shares about his struggling days in Mumbai, “One has to suffer pain to reach their destination, those days when I failed to get work, I thought about quitting and going back in my hometown, but I realised that one should concentrate on one’s work no matter what happens”.
Arijit also shares in an interview, “I hate being a celebrity. I came into music because I love it, not because I want to be famous. My singing career happened by fluke.” He didn’t have a car and had to travel by public transport to go for recordings. Arijit bought his first car with his first cheque.
