Did you know? Bhumi Pednekar was the Casting Director and Assistant Director on the sets of Yash Raj Film for over 6 years under Shanoo Sharma. Her debut movie Dum Laga Ke Haisha did good commercially, and she successfully steals the show with her convincing acting. The way she immerses into the character Sandhya, an overweight wife whose husband is not willing to accept her because of how she looks. But the role no where tried to showcase empathy or sympathy; instead Sandhya’s portrayal is that of a strong and bold woman who won’t take up any kind of disrespect. An educated woman who knows what she wants and goes for it, although the movie was a rom-com, it did a pretty good job in relaying it’s message.

In Lust Stories, she shared that doesn’t limit herself or the characters she plays for some cliche or unsaid reasons. And as an actor she doesn’t feel that she won’t do intimate scenes with her co-actors when asked to. As directors demand to see the performance on a scale on 1-10 as 10. And doing intimate scenes is not a big deal as people often make it out to be. But yes, the audience of India is still quite orthodox. So she was glad that Lust stories was released on Netflix. As comparatively, the audience of Netflix is a bit matured and accepts the new and bold ways a film is nurtured.
