Well, who said that romance is limited only to younger couples? The movie proves that it doesn’t matter which generation or ‘era’ we belong to; its the kind of romantic-comedy movie that anyone can watch. It defines practical romance in today’s world. Two strangers, meet via dating app and the story slowly evolves when they travel to Rishikesh. Starring Irrfan Khan and Parvathy Thiruvothu.
Bareilly Ki Barfi
Bareilly ki Barfi, just like the name suggests its a film with equal doses of sweetness. A refreshing break from serious, thriller, comedy and typical romantic movies. Starring Ayushmann Khurana, Kriti Sanon, and Rajkumar Rao in the lead, the cast does justice to its role. With Pankaj Tripathi playing the perfect and supportive father. Although Rajkumar Rao took the whole limelight with his amazing acting, and no one could have done it better.
Hindi Medium
After a long time, we could see Irrfan in a comic role instead of an intense and dramatic role. A well-written plot that revolves around the education system of our country. The movie humorously gives a good message. A well-written plot, good acting, and the right amount of entertainment.
Piku
The movie takes on a very realistic approach on the broad-minded Bengali culture and having a co-dependent parent. Topics such as digestive issues, old age and many more topics that we discuss in a typical household were portrayed as realistically as possible. The movie is quite funny because it’s so much relatable. Starring Amitabh Bachchan and Deepika Padukone in the lead.
Chillar Party
The main cast was that of a bunch of children and a street dog. Yes, you heard it right. Moreover, a full on entertainment by the “Baccha party“. Furthermore, by the makers of Queen, Vikas Bahl gave us an innocent comedy movie, Chillar Party. The movie is a good feel movie, that you watch with you family. A movie to make you feel happy.
Welcome
Who doesn’t remember Majnu Bhai from Welcome ? It may not have had the best plot, but the story is entertaining enough to keep you hooked and laughing through and through. Maybe a little dramatic, but drama is also necessary at times. With Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif in the lead roles, also, Paresh Rawal, Anil Kapoor and Nana Patekar in prominent roles; definitely a good watch with amazing soundtrack as well.
Drishyam
A suspense-thriller movie for a perfect weekend, Drishyam. The movie revolves around an incident that changes the lives of two families overnight. Moreover with intense storyline, and amazing performances by each and every cast member Drishyam is one of the best watches. Furthermore, Ajay Devgan playing the father who can go to any length to protect his children and family; and Tabu playing the police officer who is in search of her missing son.
The Sky Is Pink
A movie, without pushing too hard will steal your heart, and call out to the family who has suddenly been hit with a tragedy. A mother who fills the short-life of her child with happiness, so that even if she lived a short life, but it would be happy and worth it. A family that deals with the loss of its child, and moreover how it changes people in and around you. Starring Priyanka Chopra and Farhan Akhtar in the lead, one of the best watches of 2019.
Angrezi Medium
From the makers of Hindi Medium, Angrezi Medium is yet another light-hearted comedy drama movie; that revolves around a father who is willing to do anything to fulfil his daughter’s dreams of studying abroad. Starring Radhika Madan and Irrfan Khan in the lead, furthermore the movie also marks the last movie of Late actor Irrfan Khan.
