Highest consecutive flop films by top Bollywood actors!

The stars in Bollywood we witnessed are on-screen only, but backstage, there lies a different story. A story of the budget and the business associated with a film. Let’s look at the highest consecutive flop films given by the top Bollywood actors:

Akshay Kumar

The Sooryavanshi of Bollywood, who we know for giving back to back smash hits, once received a huge setback in his career. Akshay Kumar acted in 14 consecutive flop films from 1996-to 1999. After playing a role in the super hit film “Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi” in 1996, the next hit film in the line was after three years, “Jaanwar” launched in 1999. During this period, Akshay worked in over 14 films, which made his career fall into recession. During an interview, he said, “There was a time when I had 14 flops and I believed my career was over. I was dejected, but it was my training as a martial artist that came in handy. It teaches you discipline. It was my learning from the 14 flops that helps me deliver hits today.”

The list of his movies that flopped and their collections during that time are:

The Shahenshah as we know it today had his rough days of life as soon as he entered the B-town. Amitabh made his debut with the film “Saat Hindustani” in 1969 which flopped and marked the beginning of a series of flop films. He even got rejected from “All India Radio” because of his voice and surprisingly, he sings songs in his films now. With a portfolio of over more than 150 films, Bachchan emerged as the true superstar of this industry. He has surely set a benchmark for any other actors to measure their success. The film “Zanjeer” turned his life upside down because of its high box office collection. The film earned around Rs 17.46 crores in 1973, which after adjusting for inflation, amounts to more than Rs 564 crore today.

Some of his films that flopped at the beginning of his career are:

Ajay Devgn

The Singham of Bollywood proved his place in the industry by going through many rough and tough days. After stepping into the industry, though his first two films did a magnificent business, the next few films were a disaster. During the period 1993-1994, he gave 9 flop films in a row to the audience. After going on a journey of mixed: both hit and flop films, he broke his own record. Between 1999-2002, he acted in 13 consecutive flop films with just a single hit film “Bhoot” in 2003 and again gave 6 continuous flop films. The black clouds still surrounded him, when from 2004 to 2005, his eight films turned him down again.

The journey didn’t go smooth until he acted in a few blockbuster films, such as Golmaal Series, Singham, etc. After this journey full of ups and downs, he gave some of the best performances to the cinema during the last year. He acted in various films, a few of which were cameos, and did well, for instance, Bhuj: The Pride Of India, Gangubai Kathiawadi, etc. “Runway 34” is all set to release in a few days. Priyanka Chopra Jonas

Actress Priyanka Chopra Jonas is genuinely conquering the world right now. From making an American TV debut with Quantico to a Hollywood debut film, Baywatch -The Movie she seems to have done it all. PC even managed to win the People’s Choice Award two times in a row for her character “Alex Parrish”. From Roma in “Don 2” to Kashibai in “Bajirao Mastani”, she nailed each and every role. Her journey in Bollywood, just like any other star, consisted of ups and downs. But she made her name in the industry with her bossy attitude and good looks. Now launching a few projects in Hollywood, she started taking fewer Bollywood projects. The actress left a big inspiration to the viewers through her films and her career. Priyanka Chopra has definitely put India on the global map in the film industry. The heights she reached might not have been established by any other Bollywood actor so far. Her wedding too became a grand affair as she married a superstar in Hollywood.

The superstars we see on screen didn’t achieve these heights overnight, they worked hard enough to get there. Through thicks and thins, they passed their survival tests and emerged victoriously. No profession makes you popular in a night, it takes months or years or decades to gain a reputation. These successful actors won’t stop here but will achieve milestones with their superb acting skills and talent. They set an inspiration for their fans and audience. They teach us a lesson “Bad days will pass too, you just need to hold on.”
