Kareena, often called Bebo, has been in the Bollywood Industry for over 2 decades now. And we have seen this young beauty evolving into a bold and strong actress. Kareena Kapoor made her debut in the year 2000 with the movie Refugee. She starred alongside her childhood friend Abhishek Bachchan in her debut movie. The movie also marked the debut of Abhishek, aka Junior Bachchan. By the end of 2002, Kareena had already starred with the superstars of that time, including Shah Rukh Khan, Hrithik Roshan and Amitabh Bachchan. Bebo was the upcoming diva of early 2000s, and with Karishma Kapoor as an established actor, Kareena got to learn a lot from her sibling.
Talking about her dating life, Kareena said she wouldn’t date for 5 years during her early stage of career. But did you know? What made Kareena Kapoor strong at such an young age, like that of 21?
Kareena Kapoor is definitely a woman with strong views and has her own individuality. Although her parents separated when both the Kapoor sisters were quite young, but they always had their Grandfather, Raj Kapoor’s blessings with them, says Kareena. In fact she truly believes that it was her Grandfather’s blessings that made both the sisters successful as actresses. As Raj Kapoor always wanted his granddaughters to become actresses. It seems surreal to hear that someone from the legendary RK’s family has had to struggle in the Bollywood Industry, but Kareena has seen her sister struggle.
In an interview, in the year 2002, Kareena Kapoor talked about her sister, Karishma Kapoor’s struggle in the Bollywood. She says that she saw her sister hiding from her and crying with their mother as she couldn’t do well. Bebo talked about how Karishma has had a big impact on her life. She used to go on sets with Karishma, see her shoot and practise it herself as she too wanted to become an actor. And Bebo has always believed herself to be the best actress from the beginning. This is also a reason why she is so confident in front of the camera.
Why did Kareena back-out from Rakesh Roshan’s Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai?
Did you know that Ameesha Patel was not the first choice for Rakesh Roshan’s Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai? Yes you heard it right. Although the movie was a big hit and it marked the debut of super Handsome Hrithik Roshan and beautiful Ameesha Patel. Kareena Kapoor was the first choice for the film, and if she wouldn’t have backed out from it, it would have been her debut movie. Bebo backed out from the movie as she felt it gave more importance to the director’s son, aka Hrithik. But do you think she later regretted the decision because the movie turned out to be a blockbuster.
When she was asked whether she regretted her decision of backing out from the movie, she denied. As she later went on to make her debut with Abhishek Bachchan in Refugee in 2000. The movie did okay in the theatres, but Bebo has no regrets regarding her decision. And anyways she already had her upcoming movies lined up with Hrithik Roshan, so she didn’t mind not being his debut co-star.
