Kartik Aaryan seems to be no more part of Karan Johar’s Dostana 2 movie. There are speculations around the corner of the actor’s replacement from the movie.
A quasi-sequel to the 2008 film Dostana which starred Priyanka Chopra, John Abhraham and Abhishek Bachchan. Dostana 2 is an upcoming romantic comedy film directed by Collin D’Cunha. The film is being produced by Hiroo Yash Johar, Karan Johar and Apoorva Mehta under Dharma Productions.
The movie had Kartik Aaryan, Janhvi Kapoor and Laksh Lalwani in leading roles. The movie also stars Asha Bhat, Abhishek Banerjee and others. But now after Kartik’s exit from the movie, we need to see who would replace his place in the lead role.
Dharma movies on their official announcement of recasting ‘Dostana 2’
Reports since the morning show that Kartik Aaryan and Dostana 2 have been trending at the top spot on twitter. Meanwhile, Dharma movies banner have officially confirmed the news on their social media handles. The production Board wrote, “Due to unprofessional circumstances, on which we have decided to maintain a diligence silence-we will be recasting Dostana 2, directed by Collin D’Cunha. Please wait for the official announcement soon”.
Reports reveal that Dharma Productions and Karan Johar’s other production houses have vowed not to work again with the Lukka Chuppi lead star, Kartik Aaryan. There was a lack of clarity or commitment of dates from his talent management agency. Reports claim it “ unprofessional manner”.
Sources also say that Kartik’s replacement to cost Dharma Productions Rs 20 crore.
Kartik Aaryan reportedly had also completed 20 days of his shoot schedule for the film. Reports claim that Kartik’s busy schedules made Karan upset and that they weren’t on speaking terms. Dostana 2 had already wrapped up its Chandigarh and Mumbai schedules. Speculations are rising that either Rajkummar Rao or Vicky Kaushal shall replace Kartik in the film.
The filming has to restart again from the scratch after its 50% schedule has already been done.
For the unversed, Kartik Aaryan has his busy worklines coming up like Dhamaka, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and reportedly will be seen next based on a real-life incident.
