Mika Singh is one of the biggest trendsetters in the Bollywood Music Industry. His career in the music industry started off as a music composer; but soon he tried out singing as an experiment. That’s when he gave out his biggest hit, “Saawan Mein Lag Gai Aag” ; and that song became his first step as a singer. His brother, Daler Mehndi was already popular in the industry, and was one of the highest paid singers of that time. Mika used to play instruments like guitar and tabla for his brother Daler Mehndi, as a part of his band. But he later on decided that he wanted to make music, he wanted to become a music composer. He is someone who became a singer by coincidence, and also ended up becoming a controversial star.
The beginning of his career as a Singer :
Although Daler Mehndi, his elder brother would ask him to practice singing from time to time, do Riyaz, but Mika was never serious about it. But he also says that one of his biggest inspiration as a singer was none other than Anu Mallik. Anu Mallik was also a popular singer as well as music composer during the 90s. And Mika used to think that if someone like Anu Mallik could sing, as his voice has a different kind of tune and texture, so might as well he could also become a singer.
That’s when he decided to sing “Saawan Mein Lag gai aag”, after which there was no stopping for him. Mika Singh not only gave out hit albums, but he also sang for Bollywood. In fact it is a known fact that Mika is biased towards Salman Khan, and calls him his Bhai as well. He is also close to Akshay Kumar, and he has given a number of hits for both the actors. Although he has not sang for Amitabh Bachchan, except for one song, Mika Singh says that Big B is his favourite Bollywood celebrity.
Mika Singh’s personal life :
Mika Singh’s real name is Amrik Singh, and he was born in Durgapur, West Bengal. It’s a lesser known fact that Mika is from West Bengal, as he belongs from a Punjabi Family. He and one of the most popular singers of the 90s and 2000s, Daler Mehndi are brothers. Both of them, along with a few cousins and friends grouped together as a band.
He has given a number of hit songs, both for the Bollywood movie albums as well as his own albums. Daler, his brother was the change in Bollywood, who made bhangra and Punjabi pop songs popular nationwide, as well as globally. Mika Singh is also a trendsetter, and he has his own singing style, which is quite different from his brother.

The most famous controversy that revolves around Mika Singh, as well as Rakhi Sawant is the viral video of 2006. In 2006, during Mika’s birthday bash, allegedly he forcibly kissed Rakhi. This incident created a lot of buzz in the industry, and Rakhi also filed a case of molestation against him.
Slapped a fan
Mika Singh slapped a fan during one of his concerts. And the fan also filed a case against the singer. This also resulted in him getting arrested by the police.
Slapped a doctor
Allegedly, Mika Singh slapped a doctor , and whole of the medical staff was furious on this kind of behaviour. A FIR was also filed against him, but Mika justified his act stating that he slapped the doctor for his misbehaviour.
Management Company owner tried to suicide for 27 Lakhs fraud
Apparently Mika Singh and his band scammed a management company with 27 lakhs. Furthermore he denied any sort of allegations. And the owner of the company, who filed the FIR tried to commit suicide, which created a lot of buzz.
Arrested in Mumbai International Airport
In 2013, Mika Singh got arrested at the Mumbai international airport for carrying Indian and foreign currency that was beyond the permissible limits. Allegedly he was in possession of $12,000 and Rs 3 lakh in cash.
Hit-and-run case
The singer was charged in a hit-and-run case in 2014. Reportedly Mika hit an auto-rickshaw, which led to injuries to the passenger. Mika Singh was kissed by Bipasha Basu on a comedy show in Dubai, he also took to twitter to flaunt the lipstick mark. But Bipasha denied the claims then, so Mika defended himself stating that the kiss was by one of the show performers.
