Happy Birthday Ranveer Singh! A Bollywood Star that always keeps shining!
Critics too are fond of his acting skills, but his fandom doesn’t end here. His sense of fashion and experimenting with it goes a long way.
Where some actors are afraid to go to extreme lengths with their experiments, Ranveer isn’t afraid of anything or anyone. Although Ranveer is not directly from the Bollywood Industry from the beginning, but later on it was revealed that he’s a maternal cousin of Sonam Kapoor. We are sure that you too weren’t aware of this fact, but anyways it didn’t help him land any role as such.
First Step towards his dreams
Ranveer Singh had always wanted to become an actor and a performer since his childhood. He always used to participate in dramas and dance activities as he loved performing. But when he started pursuing his studies in Mumbai, he felt that it wasn’t easy to make it big in Bollywood. So instead he went on to study creative writing in US and focus more on screenplay.
He also went on to become an assistant director, but left it to pursue his dreams and become an actor. He went to a number of auditions but they were for very minor roles. Ranveer sent his portfolio to a few casting houses, and after sometime Aditya Chopra saw an audition clip of him. He was instantly impressed and saw him fit for the role in his then upcoming movie Band Baaja Baraat, a Yashraj production.
When recognition and fame knocked on Ranveer Singh ‘s door
After Band Baaja Baraat, Ranveer went on to act in yet another Yash Raj productions, Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl which also brought more opportunities on his doorstep. In 2013, he starred in Lootera alongside Sonakshi Sinha. Although the film didn’t work well commercially, it acclaimed a lot of positive reviews from the critics. Bhansali, aka Sanjay Leela Bhansali found him suitable for his next upcoming, Goliyon ki Raasleela : Ram Leela which helped increasing his fandom to a wider aspect.
Ranveer’s movies like Dil Dhadakne Do and a few more didn’t do commercially well; but he got a big hit when he starred in yet another Bhansali film- Bajirao Mastani. Bajirao Mastani is a historical period drama film casting Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh in the lead. It was there second film together after Goliyon ki Raasleela : Ram Leela. For this role Ranveer shaved off his hair, and allegedly locked himself away from everyone for more than 20 days to get into the character. The film not only did very well commercially, but it also won hearts of audiences as well as critics. It is one of his films that establishes him as a proclaimed actor.
Meeting “The One”, the Love of his Life
Popularly known as DeepVeer, this couple has definitely set goals for everyone out there. Their PDA, aka Public Display of Affection never goes out of style. The duo met in 2012, and were attracted to each other. Ranveer also had the guts to openly flirt with her, says Deepika. She says that she was at YashRaj and he was there and he was flirting like it was nobody’s business, although he was dating somebody else at this point. The sparks started turning into fire during the shooting of Goliyon ki Raasleela : Ram Leela. The song Ang laga De re, the kiss scene was so passionate and full of intensity that no one dared to utter a word. In fact, a crew member said that they were glued to each other even after Bhansali said ‘cut’.
With consecutive three movies together, although in Padmaavat Ranveer played the antagonist whilst Deepika plays the protagonist alongside Shahid Kapoor; they were bound to fall deeply in love. The duo tied the knot in November 2018 in Italy.
11 Years in Bollywood and more to come
Ranveer Singh has successfully completed 11 years in the Bollywood industry. From playing a typical Delhi boy Bittu, to Alauddin Khilji and a rapper, Ranveer sure has come a long way. He will soon make his Television debut with a quiz show and his upcoming movies Jayeshbhai Jordar , 83 and Cirkus will most probably release in 2021.
