Shilpa Shetty Kundra

The Bollywood fitness role model remained an inspiration for many women for years and even today. The actress played great roles in a number of blockbuster films, such as Apne, Dhadkan, etc. For losing weight after pregnancy, a healthy diet plays an important role and Shilpa maintained the same very well. Her full day looks like this: after waking up at around 7: 30 am, Shilpa takes 15 ml of aloe vera juice plus Tulsi leaves, jaggery and ginger and after 15 minutes, she drinks 2 glasses of warm water. After 15 minutes of breakfast, she consumes 1 bowl of oats cooked in water either with milk or muesli in skimmed milk, or two eggs with whole wheat toast and almonds soaked in water overnight. At around 9 am, Shilpa sips tea with brown sugar.

Two hours after breakfast, she eats a bowl of mixed fruits which includes papaya, muskmelon, apple, orange, etc with 5 tbsp of yoghurt smoothie. Her lunch at 1 pm includes a bowl of brown rice with 1 tsp of ghee, any vegetable and one portion of chicken or grilled fish. Her alternative for lunch could also be beans, carrots, and one glass of salted chaas with roasted jeera. For dessert, she prefers a piece of jaggery chikki or dudhi halwa made with raisins and dates.

For evening snacks, she has a few options, she eats 8-10 roasted makhanas or five walnuts and raisins or crackers with hummus or avocado dip or a couple of scrambled eggs at 3:30 pm. While consuming dinner at 7:30 pm, she considers a soup, which could be made of mixed vegetables (Tomato, pumpkin and green veggies) or chicken. It accompanies a salad made of beetroot, tomato, apple, sprouts and lettuce tossed with chaat masala. She also had moong dal chillas after having soup. She continued this diet post-pregnancy till she lost 10 kgs and changed a few things after that. Shilpa broke the myth about compromising on food for staying healthy, her diet consists of all the nutrients and proteins required. Plus, her diet barely contains any sugar. Those who follow her regularly on social media are well aware that her day is incomplete without yoga. 

Tiger Shroff

The son of veteran actor, Jackie Shroff, has hardly not made any shirtless appearance in any of his films. Right after he entered Bollywood, he became a role model for fitness enthusiasts. Apart from regular workouts and cardio, which includes squats, deadlifts, reverse and dumbbell curls and others, he learned Mixed Martial Arts too. The reason behind his hot 8 pack abs probably lies in his diet as well. Not only has he sworn off processed and junk food, but he also keeps a tight check on his carbs and sugar intake. For breakfast, he prefers 10 white eggs with oatmeal, followed by brown rice, chicken and boiled vegetables for lunch. His dinner includes fish and broccoli. He has a habit of snacking after every two years to keep himself satiated by taking whey protein shakes, dry fruits or nuts.

To curb his cravings, he considers Sundays a cheat day. Owing to his sweet tooth, he eats dark chocolate and ice creams. On an episode of “Koffee With Karan”, when Sonakshi Sinha was asked what she’d do if she woke up one day as Deepika. To which, she answered that she would thank God for the perfect body. Born to international badminton player, Prakash Padukone, she also has an upper hand in badminton, making her a national level player.

Behind this perfect athletic body, there lies a full-fledged diet plan and exercise. Her day begins with a glass of warm water mixed with honey and lime or a cup of water with fenugreek seeds soaked overnight. Her breakfast includes two eggs with low-fat milk or south Indian dishes, such as idli, upma, dosa, etc. This is followed by a lunch in which she consumes two chapatis, grilled fish and numerous fresh vegetables because she believes this meal should be fulfilling. She even admitted that being a south Indian, she can eat rasam and rice as her lunch every day.

For her evening snacks, she eats 5 pecan nuts and 2 almonds with her filter coffee. Her love for coffee made her transfer coffee all the way from Bangalore to Italy at her destination wedding. Her dinner consists of two chapatis, fresh veggies and green salad. Deepika avoids eating non-vegetarian food on her plate at dinner as she likes to keep it light. She often follows a cheat day due to her love for dark chocolate and desserts. She munches on fresh fruit every 2 hours to keep herself satiated. Through fresh fruit juices, she keeps herself hydrated all day. She doesn’t believe in starving herself for losing weight, instead, she practices heavy workouts and a proper diet. Her workout with celebrity fitness trainer Yasmin Karachiwala and also personal trainer Nam Wook Kang keeps her strong and fit. She practices a mix of yoga, pilates and HIIT workouts. 

Vidyut Jammwal

One of the hottest and fittest actors of Bollywood gained fame after his performance in the film series “Commando”. Learning the Indian martial art of Kalaripayattu at the age of three, he became an expert in practising it. Despite being so fit and healthy, the actor believes in staying vegan. All the myths associated with non-vegetarian food linked with fitness are put to an end by the actor. He is seen performing insane stunts and performances in his films and in real life too. But surprisingly, Jammwal’s diet differs from a fancy diet followed by fitness enthusiasts that include lots of protein, and a wide range of supplements.

Being a vegan, he truly supports PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals). Earlier, he consumed meat in each and every meal but after giving it up, he feels like he made the best decision ever. During his whole day, he consumes a total of six meals, which begins with a bowl of muesli with fresh seasonal fruits and oats in his pre-workout meal. In his breakfast, he eats no oil idlis with chutney and frequently, also sambhar. This is followed by his lunch, which includes fresh fruits and vegetables, with dal and chapati. His evening snack consists of a healthy upma. The dinner includes chapati with green vegetables. Protein shakes and tofu remains as his post-workout meal. Vidyut works out for around 6-8 hours a day, which consists of mixed martial arts training and weight training. 

Akshay Kumar
