Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara (2011)

Three friends, Kabir, Arjun, and Imran decide to go on a bachelor trip before Kabir’s marriage to Natasha. They had a long-standing pact: Each one of them chose an adventure sport without telling each other and all of them were supposed to participate in each sport. The trip leads them to heal wounds, combat their worst fears and fall in love with life. Meanwhile, Kabir falls in love with her swimming instructor Laila. A girl leading a dull life sees life from a different perspective after she meets her new neighbour and falls in love with him. Meanwhile, the neighbour pretends to be a married man because of his fatal disease and sets her up with her best friend. The whole movie revolves around stressing the importance of family and friends. The last scene, wherein Shahrukh lies on a deathbed, brings out the emotions of the public, bidding an emotional farewell to the character in the film. 

Taare Zameen Par (2007)

The portrayal of a story of a child’s relationship with his parents in this film made everyone cry their hearts out. A son, who is weak in academics face criticism from his parents, who send him to a boarding school. At the school, an art teacher recognizes the child’s disease, ‘dyslexia’ which is a reading disorder. The teacher helps him recover and utilize his potential. The movie raised global awareness of dyslexia and created a social impact.

Jab We Met (2007)

The movie begins with a depressed businessman, Aditya who lost his father and parted ways with his girlfriend, meets a girl, Geet on the train. Geet seems happy and carefree, opposite to Aditya’s character. Geet follows Aditya and they eventually land in Bhatinda, the girl’s hometown. She decides to elope with Aditya to relocate to Manali, where her boyfriend, Anshuman resides. Geet and Aditya part ways only to meet after a few months. Aditya discovers that Geet was not in a happy relationship with Anshuman. Meanwhile, Geet and Aditya fall for each other. The film ends with the protagonists reuniting and falling in love with each other. 

Gangubai Kathiawadi (2022)

A real-life story inspired by the novel “Mafia Queens of Mumbai” features the story of Gangubai Kothewali who rose from the city of Kathiawad. This is a story of a girl who elopes from her home to pursue acting as her career in Mumbai but gets locked up in a trap by his boyfriend, which forces her to work as a sex worker in a brothel in Kamathipura. Gradually, she gains power in the area and appears for the post of President of Kamathipura. She aspired to work for the welfare of brothel workers who didn’t have any respect or social status in society. At last, she won the presidency and acquired equal rights for everyone. 

Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham (2001)

The adopted son in the family is banished by his father when he falls for a middle-class and different caste woman. Years later, he, along with his wife, reunites with his mother and father. The amount of love the film received is incomparable. The mother’s love and sacrifice highlighted in the movie brought tears to the viewers’ eyes. 3 Idiots (2009)

A housewife, who sends a tiffin to her husband, gets it delivered to a stranger, whom she writes a letter the next day to clear the misunderstanding. But the series of letters exchanged between the two leads to the beginning of a romantic relationship. Late Irrfan Khan and Nimrat Kaur were featured in the movie.
