This movie revolves around the life story of four friends, who go on a trip together and end up being best of friends. The movie begins with Naina, an introverted person, who reunites with Aditi, her school friend in a departmental store. And then joining her on a trip to Manali along with two of their other school friends, Kabir and Avinash. On their trip together, they made tons of memories and ended up with Naina falling in love with Kabir. After a few years, they reunite at Aditi’s wedding and then the movie ends with Kabir and Naina as a couple.

The way these four friends made the most out of their lives teaches us to get some time from our busy schedules and contact our friends. It is important to stay in touch with your old friends while making new ones too. The locations this film covered are scenic locations of Gulmarg, Manali and Udaipur. “Ilahi” song based on travelling was a massive hit, just like the film. It counts toward one of the best movies based on travelling.

Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara (2011)

Three friends, Kabir, Arjun, and Imran decide to go on a bachelor trip before Kabir’s marriage to Natasha. They had a long-standing pact: Each one of them chose an adventure sport without telling each other and all of them were supposed to participate in each sport. The trip leads them to heal wounds, combat their worst fears and fall in love with life. Meanwhile, Kabir falls in love with her swimming instructor Laila. The film inspires us to pack our bags and plan a trip with our long lost friends, work isn’t everything, it is important to take a break and chill with your buddies. It covered Costa Brava where they met Laila, La Tomatina Festival in Bunol, Skydiving in Seville and the last scene of the Bulls festival in Pamplona. 

Dil Chahta Hai (2001)

One of the best movies based on friendship and travel wherein three best friends separate after completing their college education because of their different approaches towards relationships. All of them reunite on a Goa trip and the story ends with all the three friends and their wives sitting together. It tried to break the stereotypes that prevail around women and marriage in society. It is truly an inspiration for all the girls out there to plan an ‘all girls trip’ together. The film was shot in Phuket, a city in Bangkok. It featured golden-sand beaches and palm-fringed coastlines. 

Sadak 2 (2020)

One of the reasons for such a flop could be Nepotism that trended during that period because of the death of Sushant Singh Rajput.

The film showcases a story of a girl who is on a mission to expose a godman, who she believed was the cause of her mother’s death. Meanwhile, she meets Vishal. The movie also faced criticisms regarding hurting Hindu sentiments because of the use of Kailash Mansarovar in the poster. Irrespective of the negative comments it received, it surely brought us the most attractive trip locations. Starting from Ooty in Tamil Nadu to Mysore in Karnataka to Mount Kailash in Uttarakhand, the film covered them all.

Piku (2015)

The film is based on the name of the daughter, Piku, who later develops a close friendship with the driver. In the end, the father faces a peaceful death.

The movie is a special trip down the sweet memories of the late actor Irrfan Khan. The film tells us to plan a trip with our family to fight and eventually solve those issues. Kolkata’s streets were quite visible in the whole film, along with scenes from Howrah Bridge, Bishop Lefroy Road and Shyambazar. The lyrics of “Journey Song” very well captured the whole essence of travelling. 

Tamasha (2015)

Two different individuals, Ved and Tara, meet each other in Corsica with a promise to keep their real identities a secret. After hanging up for a while, Tara falls in love with Ved. But they made a pact to forget each other after returning to India. No further contact should be maintained after they return to India. After four years, Tara meets Ved while travelling for work and both disclose their real identities. As they fall in love, they realize they won’t be able to maintain their relationship and break up. After a series of events, in the end, they come back together and there’s a happy ending.

There are some major travel goals to take from them in the first half of the film. The Historical heritage, Delicious foods and flavours, and Beach bonanza are well shot in the city of Corsica, which is why it should be on our travel bucket list. The travel song “Safarnama” from this film ruled over various hearts. 

Dil Dhadakne Do (2015)
