The most favourite slang of the young generation which gets converted to become your parents’ favourite too is a modern family drama breaking various stereotypes that prevail in an Indian family. The series starts with Nikhil visiting his in-laws and making some tiny blunders in their house. Gradually, as the new season arrived, they introduced the new characters, which shifted from Nikhil’s in-laws to his wife Anita’s in-laws.
By the end of Season 4, which is the final wrap up of the series, they look after convincing Anita’s parents to accept the boyfriend of Anita’s sister, Akshata. The show ends with Akshata getting married and the whole family bidding a sweet goodbye to us. It features Veer Rajwant Singh and Eisha Chopra in the main roles. Probably, this is one of the most-watched and loved series by today’s generation. Little Things revolves around the story of two teens in their 20s who fall in love with each other. It focuses on the little and tiny things in life which we tend to ignore but those are the things that really matter. The first season uploaded on Youtube by Dice Media comes with its succeeding 3 seasons on Netflix. It stars Dhruv Sehgal and Mithila Palkar in the role of Dhruv and Kavya respectively. Through the thicks and thins of their lives, their love surpasses everything. Even though they were separated by distance, their love grew stronger with time. The proper way to balance love, work and life is well portrayed in the series. With their last season in 2021 ending, Dhruv and Kavya bid farewell to their fans, of course with heavy hearts.
Kota Factory
A boy, Vaibhav comes to Kota, the city known for NEET and JEE preparations, works hard enough to crack his exams for IIT. The whole series is shot in Black & White colour for the first time in India, to showcase the boring and dull lives of students residing in Kota. It features Jitendra Kumar and Mayur More in the leading roles along with many supporting characters. In fact, the makers set up a fake shoot to divert the crowd from the original one. The whole shoot took around a month to complete. This series came with the first season on Youtube and the second one on Netflix. Spread over 10 episodes, the series relates the real-life stories of many aspirants preparing for their exams in Kota.
Aryan & Meera
Another love story series with a bit of pinch and twist is launched by Netflix India on its Youtube channel. The two love birds, Aryan and Meera finally decide to move in together after a year of dating. This short series comes with four short and sweet episodes in its first season. This series is a must-watch while cuddling with your partner on a cosy night. Zayn Marie Khan and Taaruk Raina were featured in the show. Basically, it feels like a shorter version of the love stories shows we previously talked about. It focuses on the short things, like anniversary dates, cohabitation, etc. that matter in a relationship. Though this is a Netflix show, it has not been released on the application itself.
Mom & Co.
This web series focuses on the story of a mother and a son who drifts apart in their relationship over the years and finds a way to come back together. When the son, Aditya loses his job, he embarks on a journey to help her mother, Suhasini, in her tiffin service business. The business brings both of them closer but gives rise to some conflicts as well. This series showcases the sweet relationship between a mom and her children very well. After all, Robert Browning very wisely quoted, “Motherhood: All love begins and ends there.”
The show is an inspiration for all the mothers out there to start something of their own, like Suhasini, who started “Aai’s Kitchen”. It casts Ayush Mehra with Neliima Azeem. But does this all seem as exciting as it sounds? The fights, the flashbacks and the mistakes twist the whole vacation but in the end, they all come together to end on a happy note. The Indian web series industry is quite rich in romantic comedies, which is why here’s one more love story of Nirav and Myra played by Amol Parashar and Aahana Kumra respectively.
