Actor Arjun Kapoor shares a beautiful note on his social media about his recent movie ‘Sardar Ka Grandson’. The actor feels blessed and fortunate to be a part of films that made him tap into his beautiful childhood memories and life experiences.
Sardar Ka Grandson revolves around a devoted grandson’s mission to reunite his ailing grandmother with her ancestral home turns into a complicated, comic cross-border affair. The film stars Arjun Kapoor, Neena Gupta, Rakul Preet Singh in lead roles. Kaashvie Nair is the director of the movie. The movie releases today, 18th May 2021 on Netflix.
Arjun Kapoor reveals that his two most favourite films are ‘Ki and Ka’ and ‘Sardar Ka Grandson’. Ki and Ka was dedicated to his mother. R Balki is the director of the movie ‘Ki & Ka’ where a young Indian couple, Kia (Kareena Kapoor) and Kabir (Arjun Kapoor), challenge the traditional gender roles of the society as they navigate adulthood in this Bollywood musical rom-com.
Sardar ka Grandson is for his grandmothers. Arjun thanks his director, Kaashvie Nair for giving him this film to cherish forever. As per sources, he shares, “You gave me a solid material that connected to me so deeply and instantly because of the story’s uncanny similarity with my grandparent’s lives in various ways.”
Arjun said that his nani was a ‘ferocious woman’. Arjun added that a story can only be told if one relates to it and not necessarily the character but the ‘overall emotions’ of the story.
Neena Gupta plays a 90-year- old grandmother in Sardar Ka Grandson. She plays Arjun Kapoor’s outspoken grandmother in the movie. Neena confessed that she rejected the movie at first. After she heard the script, she also changed her mind to play Arjun’s ‘Nani’ in the movie.
On this role, the 35-year-old actor said, “She was actually a riot when you interacted with her and I could see her in Sardar, every step of the way!”
Taking to his Instagram handle, the actor says, “I have fortunate enough to get films…………. I hope it moves you in the same way that it has touched me.”
The actor also wishes and hopes that his fans will be entertained by this “simple movie with a big heart”. The actor said that he hopes Saradar Ka Grandson moves his fans just like it touched him.
Arjun Kapoor also has his exciting projects coming up like Kaneda, Bhoot Police, F2: Fun and Frustation and Ek Villain Returns.
